Business Immigration

Business Immigration/ Entrepreneur Programs were introduced for the business people/ entrepreneurs who will invest in Canada, generate employment and help Canada to build a strong and prosperous economy. This is primarily for those who can demonstrate prior business experience or senior management roles for at least 3-5 years.

Every province has it’s own selection criteria for Entrepreneurs, however as a general rule, an applicant has to show relevant business experience to qualify as an entrepreneur immigrant and has to show a net worth of $500,000- $600,000 Canadian Dollars earned through legal means. An applicant is also required to meet minimum points (cut off for each province for their Entrepreneur program draws may differ) to qualify, based on their age, qualification, business experience, net worth, investment made in the province, location of business and other adaptability factors.

Once you are invited to apply for immigration you can start your business there on a Work Permit and upon fulfilling the required criteria within 12-20 months (depending on the province) you will receive a positive nomination from the province where you have set up your business and based on that you can then apply for and be granted a Permanent Residence visa. While you are in Canada on a Work Permit setting up your business you are allowed to have your spouse accompany you on an Open Work Permit and you can also take your children along on a Study Permit.
